NeuraTap Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 September 2026
The short version
- NeuraTap is a chess training platform built and run by the NeuraTap team (Kazakhstan). These Terms are a contract between you and us.
- Adults create their own accounts. For anyone under 18, the account is created by a parent or legal guardian, who confirms this at registration and is responsible for the account.
- Tappy and our puzzle generator are AI. They can make mistakes, so check anything important with a chess engine or a coach.
- The platform, the puzzle library and everything we generate belong to NeuraTap. You use them for your own training. Do not copy them in bulk or use them to train models.
- These Terms are governed by the law of Kazakhstan. If there is a problem, write to us first; disputes we cannot settle go to court in Kazakhstan.
This summary is for convenience. The full Terms below are what applies.
1. Who we are and how these Terms work
1.1 NeuraTap (the "Service") is the website at neuratap.ai and the web application, content, AI features and related services we provide there. The Service is operated by the NeuraTap development team, based in the Republic of Kazakhstan ("NeuraTap", "we", "us"). You can reach us on any matter at hello@neuratap.ai.
1.2 By creating an account, ticking the acceptance box or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1.3 Our Privacy Policy (neuratap.ai/privacy) is part of your agreement with us. It explains what personal data we process and why.
1.4 If you accept these Terms on behalf of a person under 18, you confirm that you are that person's parent or legal guardian and that you are responsible for that person's use of the Service.
2. Who can use NeuraTap
2.1 Adults. If you are 18 or older, you create your own account and are responsible for it.
2.2 Users under 18. If the user is under 18, the account is created by the user's parent or legal guardian, whatever the user's country. At registration the parent or guardian selects the user's age group (children under 12, or teenagers from 12 to 18) and confirms that they are creating the account for the child. The parent or guardian accepts these Terms on the child's behalf, is responsible for the email address used for the account and for the child's use of the Service, and can ask us at any time to show or delete the child's data (see the Privacy Policy). This rule also applies when registering with a Google account: the age group and the parent's confirmation are requested before the account is created.
2.3 Checks. We may ask for confirmation that an account for a user under 18 was created by a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that a person under 18 created an account without a parent or guardian, we delete that account; the parent or guardian can then create a new one.
2.4 Organisations. If you use the Service on behalf of a school, club or company, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation, and "you" includes the organisation.
3. Your account
3.1 Sign-in by password or with Google. After registration we send a password to the email address on your account. You sign in to the Service with that email address and password. You can change the password in your profile at any time. Do not share your password with anyone. We will never contact you to ask for your password. You can also register and sign in with your Google account: in that case Google gives us your email address and name, and no NeuraTap password is needed. Your Google account is governed by Google's terms.
3.2 Keep your password, your mailbox and, if you sign in with Google, your Google account secure. Anything done in your account after signing in with your password or through your Google account is treated as done by you, unless you promptly told us at hello@neuratap.ai that your password, mailbox or account had been compromised.
3.3 Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Use one account per person. Do not sell, transfer or share your account.
3.4 To protect accounts, we temporarily block sign-in after repeated failed attempts. Our sign-in screens deliberately do not reveal whether an email address is registered.
3.5 Service emails. We send the emails needed to run the Service: the password email at registration, security and legal notices, and replies to your requests. You cannot opt out of these while you have an account. News about NeuraTap is optional, is sent to adult users only, and can be switched off at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
4. AI features
4.1 What they are. NeuraTap includes features powered by artificial intelligence, including Tappy, an AI assistant that explains moves, positions and mistakes, and a puzzle generator that creates or selects puzzles based on your prompt (together, "AI Features"). When you use them, you are interacting with software, not with a human coach. The Service shows a notice when you interact with an AI Feature, and content produced by AI Features is labelled as AI-generated.
4.2 They can be wrong. AI Features produce their output with statistical models. Their output can be inaccurate, incomplete or inconsistent with engine analysis, even when it sounds confident. A generated puzzle may have more than one solution, no solution, or an error in the position. Check anything important, such as tournament preparation, with a chess engine or a human coach.
4.3 A training aid. AI Features support your training; they do not replace a coach, a teacher or your own judgement.
4.4 Your prompts. Do not enter personal data about yourself or others (such as full names, contact details or health information) into AI Features, and do not use them for anything unrelated to chess training or to get around their safeguards (Section 7).
4.5 How prompts are processed. To generate a response, your prompt and the relevant board position are processed by our own models and by third-party AI model providers acting on our behalf. The Privacy Policy explains which providers we use and how they handle your data.
4.6 Similar output. Because AI Features work from your prompt and the chess position, other users who enter similar prompts may receive the same or similar puzzles or explanations. AI output is not guaranteed to be unique or original, and a generated puzzle may coincide with an existing composition.
5. What you send us
5.1 What you send us includes your prompts to AI Features, your nickname and profile details, feedback and messages to support, and anything you choose to share through the Service's sharing features. You may only send content that you have the right to send and that does not break the law or Section 7.
5.2 We may store and use what you send us to run the Service, to improve it and our models, and to keep it secure. Personal data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
5.3 Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions about the Service, we may use them without any obligation to you.
5.4 Sharing features. When you use a sharing feature (for example, sharing a puzzle, a result card or a link), the content you choose to share becomes visible to anyone who has the link or, where the feature says so, to other users. Share only what you are comfortable making public.
5.5 We may remove or refuse content that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms.
6. Our content and intellectual property
6.1 What belongs to NeuraTap. The Service and everything in it, including the software, design, Tappy and other characters, trademarks, the puzzle library (including puzzles generated at your request), explanations, ratings, tags, curation, our models and data, belongs to NeuraTap or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property and database laws.
6.2 What you may do. You may use the Service and its content for your own chess training and, if you are a parent or guardian, for the training of your children. You may not redistribute puzzles or explanations commercially, publish them in bulk or use them outside the Service in any other way without our written permission.
6.3 Generated puzzles. Puzzles that AI Features generate at your request stay part of our library. You can solve them, save them and share them through the Service for as long as you have access to it. We may keep them, improve them and make the same or similar puzzles available to other users.
6.4 Our names and marks. "NeuraTap", "Tappy", our logos and the slogan "Tap your mind" are our trademarks. Do not use them without our written permission, except to say truthfully that you use NeuraTap.
6.5 Third-party components. The Service may include open-source software and third-party content used under their own licences, which apply to those components.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to do any of the following, and not to help anyone else do them:
(a) access the Service by automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers, scripts or AI agents), except search engines indexing public pages in accordance with our robots.txt;
(b) copy, download, extract or collect puzzles, explanations, positions, ratings, tags or other content in bulk, or build a database of them;
(c) use any part of the Service or its content to develop, train, fine-tune, evaluate or benchmark machine-learning or AI models, or to build a product or service that competes with NeuraTap;
(d) reverse-engineer, decompile or try to discover the source code, models or algorithms of the Service, except to the extent the law expressly allows this despite this clause;
(e) interfere with the Service or its security: probe or scan for vulnerabilities, bypass rate limits or access controls, overload the Service, or introduce malicious code;
(f) try to make AI Features ignore their instructions or safeguards (for example, by "jailbreaking" or prompt injection), or use them to generate content unrelated to chess training or content that is unlawful, harmful, hateful, sexual or harassing;
(g) submit content that is unlawful, infringes anyone's rights, contains personal data of other people without their permission, or is inappropriate for children;
(h) impersonate anyone, misrepresent your age or your relationship to a child, or create accounts for other people without their permission or the permission of their parent or guardian;
(i) resell, rent or provide the Service to third parties as a service;
(j) use the Service in violation of any applicable law, including sanctions and export-control laws.
We may investigate suspected violations.
8. Suspension, termination and appeals
8.1 By you. You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in your account settings or by emailing hello@neuratap.ai from the email address linked to the account. What happens to your data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
8.2 By us. We may suspend or terminate your account, or restrict features, if:
(a) you materially breach these Terms, including Section 7;
(b) the law or a competent authority requires it;
(c) your account is used for fraud or abuse, or in a way that creates a security or legal risk for us or for other users;
(d) the account does not meet the requirements of Section 2; or
(e) the account has been inactive for the period stated in the Privacy Policy.
Unless notice would be unlawful or would compromise security or an investigation, we will tell you by email why we suspended or terminated your account.
8.3 Appeals. If you think we made a mistake, write to hello@neuratap.ai within 30 days. We will review your appeal and answer you.
8.4 After termination. When your account is terminated, your right to use the Service ends and we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections 6, 10, 11, 12 and 13 keep applying after your account ends.
9. Changes to the Service and to these Terms
9.1 The Service. NeuraTap is a young product and it evolves. We may add, change, limit or remove features and content, and we may run parts of the Service as beta or experimental features that can change or be withdrawn without notice.
9.2 These Terms. We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify you at least 5 days before they take effect, by email to the address on your account or by a notice in the Service. If you do not agree with a change, stop using the Service before the change takes effect; continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms. Changes required by law, or needed to address a security issue, may take effect sooner.
10. Disclaimers
10.1 We work to keep the Service accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that its content (including puzzles, explanations and AI output) is accurate or complete.
10.2 The Service links to or relies on third-party services (such as email providers and social networks). We are not responsible for those services or their terms.
10.3 Nothing in this Section limits the rights described in Section 11.4.
11. Liability
11.1 To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses; loss of profit, data or goodwill; losses caused by events outside our reasonable control; or losses caused by your breach of these Terms or by content submitted by other users.
11.2 Maximum amount. If we are nevertheless required by law to compensate you for a loss, our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms in any 12-month period is limited to USD 50, to the extent permitted by law.
11.3 We are not liable for chess results, ratings, tournament outcomes or educational outcomes.
11.4 What we do not exclude. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intentional misconduct or gross negligence. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
12. Your responsibility to us
To the extent permitted by law, if your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Service leads a third party to bring a claim against us, you will compensate us for the losses and reasonable costs caused by that claim. This Section does not apply if you are under 18, and it does not apply to you as a consumer where the law of your country does not allow it.
13. Governing law and disputes
13.1 These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
13.2 If you have a problem, write to hello@neuratap.ai first. We will try to resolve it with you within 30 days.
13.3 If we cannot resolve it together, the dispute is decided by the competent court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
13.4 If you live in a country whose law gives consumers rights that a contract cannot take away (for example, the right to bring a claim in the courts of your own country), those rights remain yours. These Terms do not cancel them.
14. General
14.1 Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
14.2 Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to a company that takes over the operation of the Service (for example, a legal entity created to operate NeuraTap) or to a successor in a merger or sale. We will notify you if this happens.
14.3 Severability and waiver. If any part of these Terms is found invalid, the rest remains in effect. If we do not enforce a provision, we may still enforce it later.
14.4 Language. These Terms are written in English. We may provide translations for convenience; if there is a conflict, the English version applies, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.
14.5 Notices. We send notices to the email address on your account. You send notices to hello@neuratap.ai.
14.6 No agency. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, employment or agency relationship between you and us.
